Christmas Market 2024
Experience the magic of a traditional Danish Christmas at Mark Museum’s charming Christmas market at Museum Farm Karensminde. This is more than just a market – it’s living history.
The Christmas market at Mark | Karensminde is perfect for visitors seeking an unforgettable holiday experience filled with crafts, flavors, and festive atmosphere. As you wander through the cheerful surroundings, you’ll encounter stories of Danish farm life from past centuries and Christmas traditions brought to life.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., you can explore more than 20 stalls offering handcrafted goods, design pieces, and delicious treats.
The scent of roasted almonds mingles with the aroma of Christmas trees and greenery in the courtyard. Inside the Coffee Room, you can enjoy warm gløgg (hot wine) and æbleskiver (a special kind of Danish pan cake) while resting your feet. In the old smithy, you’ll find forged Christmas hearts, while the woodworking shop offers beautifully crafted birdhouses. At the wagon port, guests can try their luck to win a lovely advent gift or a little self-indulgence with the many prizes in the tombola.
In the farmhouse, the air fills with the malt-scented steam from the brewing vat, where the farm manager brews a fine beer using the original recipe once used at Karensminde in the 1800s.
In the old kitchen, a wood-fired stove crackles, with traditional cooking and baking taking place the old-fashioned way. The parlor is beautifully decorated for Christmas with shiny red apples, fir branches, and charming historical ornaments.
Don't forget to visit the farm animals in the stables.
Free entry for children and youth under 18. Tickets for adults are 65 DKK and can be purchased in the Exhibition Building.
