Invitation to the Historical Plant Market at Museumsgården Karensminde

We would like to invite you to the Historical Plant Market at Museumsgården Karensminde on Ascension Day, May 29, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM. We hope you will join us in selling your plants, seeds, bulbs, and tubers and help create a cozy and atmospheric plant market.

What is the Historical Plant Market at Museumsgården Karensminde?

The Historical Plant Market in 2025 is an evolution of the Garden Day event that has been held at Museumsgården Karensminde for several years. This event combines the sale and exhibition of plants with a historical context.

The historical aspect refers, among other things, to the authentic historical setting naturally provided by Museumsgården.

On the farmyard, we invite those who would like to "step back in time" and help create an authentic historical market reminiscent of the 1930s. This means using natural materials, clay pots, zinc containers, etc. Your plants may be typical of 1930s gardening or simply have an interesting history of their own.

In the rest of the museum grounds, there will be space for more contemporary market stalls. We only ask that stallholders maintain an aesthetically pleasing setup.

The Historical Plant Market connects today's interest in plants and gardening with past practices, cultures, and stories.

In addition to the market stalls, visitors can experience:

• Workshops on grafting apple trees.
• Guided tours of the gardens at Museumsgården Karensminde.
• Exhibitions showcasing selected plants that have remained popular in Danish gardens for over a century.

Prices

• Stand outside the farmyard: 250 DKK (200 DKK if registered before February 5).
• Stand on the farmyard (see conditions above): 150 DKK.

The price includes admission for two people, morning coffee, and a pastry for two.

Lunch, coffee, tea, and cake will be available for purchase.

The payment must be transferred no later than April 20, 2025, to the following account:
Danske Bank. Reg. no. 4597, Account no. 12239742.
Please include your name in the payment comment field.

Practical Information

• Setting up your stall: Participants are responsible for setting up their own stall.
• The museum can provide a table (approx. L 190 cm x W 72 cm) and two chairs upon request.
• We recommend warm clothing and bringing a blanket.

Stall locations will be assigned once all registrations are received. You will receive a map with your designated spot.

If you have special requirements, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Registration & Cancellation

• Registration deadline: March 1, 2025.
• Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email.

General Information for the Day

• Arrival from 8:30 AM.
• Your stand will be marked with a name tag, where you will also find two breakfast vouchers.
• Your stand should be fully set up by 9:45 AM.
• Opening hours: 10 AM – 4 PM.
• We encourage warm clothing, sturdy footwear, and a blanket.
• Attaching items to walls or posts is not allowed.
• Engage with visitors! Tell them about your products, work processes, materials, and history.
• Breakfast is served in the café from 9:00 – 9:45 AM. Hand in your meal vouchers at the café counter.
• Lunch can be purchased in the café.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend, the following refund conditions apply:

• Cancellations by April 15, 2025: 200 DKK refund.
• Cancellations after May 1, 2025: 150 DKK refund.
• No-shows are non-refundable.
